How to add or remove Interac e-Transfer® contacts in online banking

Before sending money using Interac e-Transfer, you need to add contacts to your account – and here’s how to do it.

Before your start…

Set up your Interac e-Transfer profile

  • The first time you send money using Interac e-Transfer, you’ll need to create an Interac e-Transfer profile. Follow the on-screen steps to get started.

Keep in mind

  • If you have two-step verification turned on, you’ll need to enter a verification code when adding a new Interac e-Transfer contact.

Eligible accounts

  • Advantage Account (Canadian-dollar, personal, or business)
  • All-In Banking Package
  • Manulife One main account
  • Manulife Bank Select chequing account
  • Line of credit

Step 1
Get started

Sign into online banking, click Interac e-Transfer®  in the left side menu, then click Manage contacts.

Step 2
Add your contact’s information

Click Add a contact in the top right corner of the page.

On this screen, you’ll enter your contact’s information, including:

  • Their name
  • Their preferred language (only English and French are available)
  • How they should be notified (email, mobile/text message, or both)
  • Their email address, mobile phone number, or both

Once you’ve entered their information, click Add, and you’ll see a pop up confirming your contact has been added to your account.

To update your contact’s email address or mobile phone number, click Interac e-Transfer®  in the left side menu, then click Manage contacts, then click on the + sign next to one of your contacts. Then click EditDelete, or Send money and follow the steps on screen.
