Our business GICs offer a competitive interest rate on all your money

Long-term business GICs

1-5 year locked-in terms, interest compounded annually to maturity. The minimum investment is $2,500 ($10,000 for monthly interest payments). Interest is calculated daily on the total daily balance and paid monthly. Rates are subject to change without notice. If you want to receive monthly interest payments, the minimum investment is $10,000.

Redemption prior to maturity is subject to market value adjustment and expense recovery fees.

Short-term business GICs

Short-term GICs may be redeemed prior to maturity but interest is forfeited if redeemed within 29 days from issuance. If redeemed on or after 30 days but before maturity, a 1.25% reduction in interest rate will apply. Interest is prorated to the number of days. A $25.00 [early] redemption fee will also be charged. Refer to the GIC Confirmation for details.

If you redeem a short-term deposit before maturity, we charge a $25 early redemption fee along with a rate reduction of 1.25%. If you redeem within the first 29 days, you forfeit all interest.

FAQ

Manulife Bank business GICs are not affected by the ups and downs of equity or fixed-income markets. At the end of your business GIC’s term, you will receive your original investment plus interest at the rate set when you invested your money. That certainty helps you plan for the future.

It's up to you! Let us know before the maturity date if you’d like us to deposit the cash into your business bank account or reinvest your money in a new GIC with the same term or a different term.

You can request a rate guarantee on your existing business GIC up to 30 days before your business GIC matures. This way, if the rates drop, you’ll get the better of the two rates. All you need to do is call us!
